The All Styles Music club in Ruthin has been very kind to us over the past few months since we started playing there regularly. I say “we” in a loose sense, as I don’t strictly mean Redhill.
I first attended the session, held at the Feathers pub in Ruthin, in late July and have been returning most weeks since, often accompanied by Linda.
The songs we’ve played at Ruthin have been mostly Alan’s choice of covers (lots of Ryan Adams…) and songs that Alan and Linda enjoy singing together. The Ruthin club has a fantastic atmosphere and is frequented by people who really love to listen carefully to the music. They are so attentive and appreciative, and based on the feedback we’ve received, people seem to enjoy what we do. They’ve been very kind to us!
In fact, we’ve created such a good impression that Chris Birchall, who runs the club, has asked us to do one of their “showcase” nights, which means we get to play an extended set, with regular open mic spots for floor singers on the night too.
Thursday, November 8th is the big night for us, and I’m delighted to say that John will be joining us for some of the songs, giving us the opportunity to play some of the old Redhill songs that we haven’t yet played at the club.
Please come down and support us if you can. It will start at 8pm but get there earlier for a good seat!

Here’s a video of Linda and I performing “Oh my sweet Carolina” (Ryan Adams) back in August 2018.
Linda & Alan asked to perform the closing song of the night. Brilliant performance last night, proud of you both 😃
